LEARNING
Sacred Heart believes in supporting every student, in every lesson, every day. In addition to the key learning areas of English, Mathematics, Human Society and Its Environment (HSIE), Science and Technology, Creative Arts and Personal Development, Health and Physical Education (PDHPE), our school curriculum comprises a Religious Education program, appropriate to the developmental level of each child and forming an integral part of future learning. Students are encouraged to strive for personal excellence and to extend and develop their full potential in all their endeavours. Caring and professional staff support our students in a positive environment, underpinned by Catholic values and where self-esteem can flourish. Alongside this, the Positive Behaviour for Learning (PBL) framework is embedded across the life of the school. This approach has as its focus on teaching and supporting appropriate student behaviours to create a safe and supportive learning environment.
COMMUNITY OF FAITH
Opportunities are provided for our students to celebrate both class and school liturgies and masses, and to participate in Sacramental Programs. Educational philosophies of the school are formulated to reflect Catholic Values as expressed in the Gospels and Church teachings. All members of our community are invited to actively seek out and participate in social justice initiatives that live out our faith in ways that enrich the lives of others. Pastorally, the school is cared for by the Salvatorian Priests, namely, Father Ireneusz Czech, SDS. The Salvatorian Order was founded in 1881 by Father Francis Jordan who taught of the truths of the Catholic Faith so that “all may know the goodness and kindness of the Saviour”.
CAMPUS & LOCATION
Situated in the leafy suburb of Pymble, our school is centrally located and offers extensive grounds. We are fortunate to have a large sports oval, access to Pymble Catholic Parish, a swimming pool, well-equipped classrooms, and a spacious covered learning area. Our facilities also include multiple play areas and all-purpose netball, basketball and handball courts.
